The Slaughter of Speech

The tongue is the most powerful thing in the human body.  It can build up, tear down, or anything in between.  When we say things without thinking, we not only bring guilt upon ourselves, but we also can harm the other person in a way much deeper than we know.  It could even shake their self-confidence in a bad way.
This being said, speak only things that build up and encourage others.  When we speak, we speak from the heart.  This can be a very dangerous thing, as we are all wretched and cold-hearted sinners.  Accordingly, what we say can easily be offensive.  Take that bad energy and turn it into good, speaking in a powerful and inspiring way.  Be an example to those who like to use slaughtering speech.

The Female Sex

Proving yourself when young is always a challenge.  Proving yourself as a woman is likewise challenging.  So, being a young woman is the challenge of the century!  Strive hard and play smart.  The one with a quick wit but even temper always has the upper hand.  Least you must remember that things not said can be more beneficial than those said.  Likewise, at certain times, things not said can be hurtful.  Like a form of the silent treatment.  A good woman will work, but a great woman will strive.  Be the great woman and strive in all you do.  So proving yourself will not even be considered because everyone is simply caught up in how hard of a worker you really are!
As far as the opposite sex goes, choose men carefully, for they can either make you, or break you.  In marriage, choose extremely carefully as this choice can be made only once in a lifetime.  Do not pick in shallowness, based off of looks.  However, be considerate!  Of your children that is.  They'll have his looks too, you know, so don't count solely on your own good charm.

Pertaining to Music

Song is the heart of all.
If you have no heart, you have not song.
If you have not song, you likewise have no heart.
These parables I speak to you because I have a very musically inclined family.
If you surround yourself with these beautiful melodies, you will be a happier person.
So next time someone hums, do not get mad and snap but instead join the merry occasion and sing along.
If you know not the words, I find saying "watermelon" is a very convincing way of not looking utterly ignorant.
There is a song for any mood or occasion, so do not be afraid to simply look them up.
Beware, however, as there are many sketchy songs on the market nowadays.
All this to say: music is at the heart of happiness.
So, cheer up old chap.
Put a smile on that cheeky face of yours and sing a little tune.

The "Bling" of Agony

Hello my dear friends!  I recently had the opportunity to just sit down and write, probably for an hour or more.  I was bored and had forgotten my phone, so I thought why not just write?  I wrote a series of short maunders that I am quite proud of and wanted to share with you. I will post them each in a separate blog post because I don't want one super long one.

The "Bling" of Agony

Smoke filled skies send up cries of pain

As everyone gathers to mourn in vain.
Some people weep, others just sit in silence.
What charade is this that causes us to miss
All the importance in this peculiar life?
We drown ourselves with self-pitying thoughts
When really deep inside our grief is not wrought.
On the surface it will lie and stay
Like a mask to cover the insecurity of the day.
Some call it depression, or a hole.
I call it a soul
Which is writhing in grief over the little things.
Do you not see these fake gestures which everyone brings
To a table already filled with cards?
As for those who know of what I speak,
Congratulations! you have a head start to fix that of which you wreak.
For those who sit bewildered at my speech,
Here is a broader picture, which hopefully your mind can reach:
Many youngsters of society seem to think
That their minds do not tick the tink of security.
So, throwing themselves down into mood swings
They simply call it depression as a bling to catch your eye.
Why do they lie like this?
We do not know, but hope you'll think of this
In the future before you show depression as a cover for self-pity.
-The End-

My Insights on Hiding Along with Food Evolution

Sometimes, I write things. Well that part is obvious, seeing as how I have a blog. However, sometimes I write silly things. Not because I can't think of anything else to write, but because I want to use my imagination to express feelings. I truly believe that writing is a way to communicate with people that has that feeling and "umph" that spoken words never could. So, with that rather dramatic entrance, here is what I wrote. I hope you like it! :)

My Insights on Hiding
Shame!  Dishonesty!  These are my thoughts and insights on hiding.  No, I am not referring to literal hiding, (okay, technically I am)  I suppose the word would be physical hiding.  Even the most dishonest of hiding's are simply horrific.  Suppose a child were to have a book he/she likes to read very much.  They then take their study book with them to the lounging chair and "read" it thoroughly, but all the while having the fiction novel inside the larger book to conceal it.  Hiding could be put into much better terms, such as: dishonesty, lying, non-submission, and the sorts.  Although I do suppose that dishonesty and lying are much the same.  However, not completely.  Or at least not in my point of view.  I must have these slightly odd phases where I wish to write on something completely out of the ordinary when I am not pinned in a corner of having to "stay in the lines" or have it a certain length.  Writing is a way of de-stressing and letting loose.  I believe I am quite through.

Food Evolution
Food.  In today's culture, we have quite a lot of it, and in insanely immense quantities.  Practically everywhere you look is overcome by the edible substance in one form or another.  At your house, you can simply look in your pantry/storage room, at the store…where else would you buy food?  Outside in the deathly hollows of mother-nature wilderness?  Well, my friend, I hate to stun you, but that is the very first place that food was brought into existence.  Was it born?  Perhaps.  It all depends on your imagination….or your sanity.  I'll have you know that I get them confused quite regularly.  Where was I?  Ah, yes the food.  You see, in the beginning there was food, and the liquid was with the food and the food was the food.  That doesn't sound quite right….Well in any matter, food came into existence and no matter how hard we human beings try, there is absolutely no escaping it!  And it would do some of us jolly well to avoid it altogether.  Perhaps it all started with a strawberry.  Yes, you red correctly.  A little read strawberry with miniscule seeds so small, that not the tiniest of meelins can see them.  What are meelins?   We'll get to that a bit later.  This strawberry's name was per-say…..Alhom.  Alhom had eyes, nose, ears, and mouths just like we do.  What was that?  Oh yes I quite meant to right mouths, as he had too.  One in the front and one in the back.  That way, he could carry on too conversations at once, you see.  It really was quite an ingenious invention.

Alhom grew from a tall, sad, slumped over tree in the smack-dap-middle of the island Glugose.  After he was grown, he got tired of hanging there all alone, so he hopped out of his tree in search of other little read strawberries just like himself.  When he looked the hole wworld over and found not a single living strawberry but himself, (yes, tis true all the other little read strawberries were dead) he decided to make one himself.  He carefully picked out one of his own miniscule seeds and sat it on the ground to think.  Then he had a marvelous kaplunc in his gonnin!  He jumped with joy and grabbed the seed as he hastened back to his tree.  He carefully dug a whole, and buried the seed deep into the moist blanc.  After a while, he decided to take a nap, for his journey had thoroughly tired him.  He woke to a sharp pike in the poke.  He jolted up and looked round.  He saw a little read strawberry just like himself!  After discussing the matter with her, (for it was indeed female) he came to the conflution that she had grown from his own little seed.  They gradually began to levitate into love and had children.  Of course they didn't have children out of wedlock, but strawberries cannot be married like humans, because that would just be nonsense!  And that, my friend, is how the world became populated with food.  How did we get so much food from strawberries?  Have you never heard of evolution?  Of course not of the human race.  Of food!  You should surely reed it sometime, as it is quite a jolly good story.  And now, I must be off.  I have a strawberry garden to attend to, and they are of the upmost importance to me.  Besides…they did begin the world, as the world revolves around food.  At least, for people who are quite obese.

The E.A.M.

"Oh please!  Your generation is so lazy and consumed in your electronic devices.  If you grew up in my time, you'd be sweeping the floor or helping in the fields, or something to help the family gain income.  Nowadays, you kids have these fidget circles--and uh--Instachat and what's that one with the face things--oh yes!--Snapgram?"

If you were born in 1999-2002, and are living in this modern day society as a high school attending teenager, you have probably heard something along these lines.  I'm sure that every person at some point in there lives have been given this lecture no matter how hard they strive to act otherwise.  My volleyball coach once said,
"I'm sure you all are tired of hearing people say crap about your generation, am I right?  Well I'll let you in on a little secret.  Every generation has been talked down to because of reasons which are specific to them.  So if you just accept the fact that there are always going to be "haters" then you'll be okay."
Now don't get me wrong...I'm definitely not one to say 'embrace your inner self because that's who you truly are.'  I do believe that our generation is simply too involved in the next best thing, especially when it comes to electronics.  However, because of the times that we have been raised in, we are naturally expected to excel in things of this age.  Let me put it this way.  "Acquiring skills on the latest technologies helps better students to become better collaborators, communicators, critical thinkers, innovators, problem solvers and citizens of our global economy.  More than 50% of today's jobs require some degree of technology skills, and experts say that percentage will increase to 77% in the next decade."
The last generation should be the ones to understand most of all because they saw the beginnings of this unavoidable movement.  What movement?  The movement I like to call the E.A.M.  Also known as, the Electronic Age Movement.

Now you might be asking yourself, "I've never heard of such a thing...E.A.M.--please.  Probably just some dramatic teenager trying to get attention."
Yes, and no.  It may not be an official thing as of yet, but it is definitely lying right under the surface, too delusive to be noticed and yet just clear enough for the older generations to see.  Why do they notice?  Because it is true when they were growing up they had to help out around the house and help the family in their income, but, just like us, they were just slightly different too.  Always having the next best thing because that's what was available to them.  Now we simply follow in their footsteps a little uniquely and we are critiqued and judged?
No.  I believe that the older generations are simply afraid of the E.A.M., thus having a just cause in panicking when they see teens constantly on media.  Who knows?  Maybe one day all jobs will be run by machines or robots.  That is not the case today, so there is absolutely no need to freak out about something that isn't even happening yet.  Albeit, I do not deny that very many teenagers abuse their electronics by being on social media far too often.

My point in this prolonged argument, is this: The E.A.M. is coming, in the near future.  Is it here yet?  No.  Also, I agree with the statement that teenagers are on devises too often, but in the world they're growing up in, how are they (we) expected to completely seclude themselves?  A new thing isn't always a bad thing.  Take automobiles for instance.  I'm sure that in 1886 when the very first automobile was created, there were some people out there who were very skeptical.  Perhaps they were even afraid.  Maybe they thought that everyone should just revert back to the old ways with horse and buggy.  Was this a good thing?  Once again, no.  If time had traveled backwards instead of forward, we would be caught in an endless time loop with horses and buggies, suits, and top hats of the past.  I don't know about you, but I certainly don't want that to be the case.  So sometimes it's just better to accept things for the way they are and try to make the best of it.  You never know, it could just be for our benefit.  After all, as the saying goes, "All things are difficult before they are easy."
In conclusion, let us dwell on a famous quote by the well respected Thomas Fuller.  "He that fears not the future may enjoy the present."

Yours sincerely,
TheNerdInGlasses
